Junior Maceió

Geraldo Manoel de Souza Júnior, better known as Júnior Maceió, was born on 12/09/77 in Maceió-AL, but lived all his childhood in the small town of Santa Luzia do Norte-AL, with about 6,000 inhabitants.

At the age of 11, he started studying music with Maestro Euclides Moreira, at the age of 13 he was already playing in the frevo orchestras of the region. In Maceió, he played on the Big Banda Show, conductor Ivanildo Rafael, who represented the state of Alagoas at the Montreux Festival in 1997 and accompanied artists such as: Claudionor Germano, a great carnival from Pernambuco), and Maria Alcina.

He studied at Senai and at the Federal Technical School of Alagoas. The first change was in 1998 to Juazeiro do Norte-CE, where he worked with Luiz Fidélis, a great composer from Ceará. In 1999 he moved to Salvador and played at night in bars and restaurants. In the studio he recorded with

He was part of the Bahian group Harmonia do Samba from 2001 to 2008, where he was responsible for arranging the wind instruments. During this period there were 8 discs and 2 DVD's. With the group, he toured countries like Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Japan, USA, Angola and Cape Verde.

2008

Recorded and made musical direction for the DVD HARMONIA ROMÂNTICO, recorded in SP at Espaço das Américas, and nominated for the Latin Grammy as the best samba and pagode album;

Won the award for best instrumental music by radio educator from Bahia with the song “CHEIO DE PANTIM” (Junior Maceió / Marcio Dhiniz)

Recorded the children's disc "A CASA AMARELA" by Ivete and Saulo and DVD "PODE ENTRAR".

2009

He was part of the band that accompanied the artist Carlinhos Brown on his tour (Morocco, Europe, Colombia, USA, Canada)

Was part of the band and musical direction of Cantor Jau

In March 2011, he was invited to join the band of singer Ivete Sangalo, where he is today. Junior is also part of the award-winning Rumpillezz Orchestra by conductor Letieris Leite.
